Here's a thread that to me is an example of what you mention- jerlouvis was great at taking the time to respond, etc. Today seems as good as any to revisit this discussion of 'Here Comes Sunshine!'
Notice how little prompting Tell requires to get geeked up about the Lakers.

Crap, making it clear that I am BY far the worst poster when it comes to undermining the Forum from its DEAD Destiny...
At least I wasn't contesting a Finals game or denying any self-evident truth, I suppose...

I got a kick out of that old post about Tell being in the wrong decade. I think it was last year I watched the Lakers/Celtics ESPN special which reinforced my opinion that it was the best era of b-ball.
Thanks for those old thread posts- It's fun to look back at some of the crap I used to spew (like comparing Vince to Bill Laimbeer).

I know right around the end of last March, beginning of April, they re-ran that Celtics-Lakers film on ABC. They were filling air time 'cause there was so little live sports to broadcast. I had never seen it.
Man it pretty much induced flashbacks. I was so deep into that stuff then I can't really compare it to anything else. The highs and lows were wild stuff. I'm torn as to whether it was better ball or just what was happening when I was of a particular age. But I'm certain of how there's no Larry Birds around these days.
How Tell managed to hitch his wagon to the loathsome purple and gold is beyond me.

A few years ago I posted a link to a Sugaree, You kindly provided another link to another very nice version of the same tune. SDH also chimed in. I enjoyed what you posted but I never responded which has bothered me ever since (maybe I'm an over the top nuerotic).
I don't know but I admit to not being very good at message board etiquette, so I just want to say thanks belatedly.

I had listened to the Dead from '71 to the hiatus period. So I had to think his mid 80's music had to be affected by his health issues but that was surely not the case.
I picked up once again toward the late 80's but Jerry's guitar (at least with the Dead) in the early 90's had too much distortion to my liking.
